There's no reason to throw yourself at a lawyer, or suffer in silence, or share it with someone unhelpful, just because you have a problem. But you're right. What else to do, conventionally? Seems that nowhere on earth is there a single person, except me, offering professionally to help folks with their legal, financial, technical and general problems who isn't a practising lawyer. The times we live in! No wonder practising lawyers make a killing, and behave psychotically, and perpetrate outrageous scams on their own customers. Shame, I say, on the whole community of retired lawyers, for not making themselves available.
They should be doing en masse what MrRigorous.pro is doing.

I've just read, via a New York Times article, about Habitat for Humanity, a not-for-profit that addresses housing needs for the elderly. Similarly something called Rebuilding Together. They come to your house and fix things like your bathroom, your water heater, your computer, etc. Sometimes for free. Dammit. Why isn't a similar outfit helping people with their legal, financial, technical and general problems, especially from oppressive operators like bad lawyers, utilities, banks, insurers, brokers, etc. who enjoy terrorising elderly customers for the fun of it?
Helping people is exactly what I want to do. I've always wanted to do it. What is so difficult about it? MrRigorous.pro!

do anything properly and genuinely reserved by local regulation to a practising lawyer (on which a lot of self-interested misinformation is out there that needs correcting). That leaves scope for a wide range of services — properly provided by MrRigorous.pro.
2: I don't
accept any formal appointment, including power-attorney, trustee, executor, administrator, proxy, healthcare proxy, nominee, guardian, arbitrator, mediator, etc.
accept gifts.
3: I don't
handle customer or transaction money
prepare customer financial statements or customer personal accounts. I do prepare accounts of relevant transactions from genuinely complete, authenticated primary source material.
4: I don't
act for both sides
